If you are going on a package holiday, or a tour, your tour operator should provide you with information about the area you are going to visit. The information will tell you about all the things you will do and see, and, should also tell you what shots you need to have.
Do not just rely on your tour provider for this information. Do your own investigation to make sure you have the latest medical information. Check with the U.S. Consulate at the location you will be visiting. You can do this by going on-line. Also, check with your own medical practitioner. If they do not have up-to-date information they will be able to get it for you.
If you react badly to immunizations, talk to your doctor about having the shots in advance and not just prior to your holiday. This will give you time to recover so you do not spend the first few days of your holiday feeling under the weather.
Take out travel insurance to cover illness for you or a member of your party. There are so many different coverage's available, and, given the high cost of medical treatment, you would be better to buy what you can afford rather than to get the cheapest
