For those travelling to places known as malaria prone areas, be sure to talk to your doctor about the new developments of the drug called Choloquine. Although this drug has been used decades ago the ultimate way to fight Malaria, the mosquito-borne parasite became resistant of the drug since the 1990s.
New developments however have been made by a young Australian scientist to recreate the drug into a stronger version. Choloquine has been known to be the most effect, cheapest and with the least amount of side effects, compared to the other drugs which are available on the market. These include Quinine and Artemisinin, which is expensive to manufacture and purchase.
It has not be finalized whether the drug will be in your local pharmacy soon, but the recent breakthrough has given many travellers hope for long term travel immunization.
